The striking miners in Great Britain in 1984 would have preferred to do without this kind of support, but you can't always choose your allies. As the gay and lesbian scene was also suffering from Margaret Thatcher's reactionary policies and police arbitrariness, a London activist group decided to show solidarity with the workers and collect donations. When they finally deliver the money in person to a sleepy Welsh village, two worlds collide: Bronsky Beat meets Gaelic folk! The illustrious troupe does not find a grateful ally in every Welshman. But the opposites are not as irreconcilable as they first seem - and soon the hip Welsh start to get a real disco feeling. It is the beginning of an extraordinary friendship with historic consequences to this day
