Pride on Screen: FRAU AUS FREIHEIT

Against the backdrop of historical developments in Poland over the last 50 years, "Woman of Freedom" tells the story of a woman's self-empowerment. The new film by Małgorzata Szumowska and Michał Englert ("33 Scenes from Life", "In the Name of...", "Body") is a movingly acted character portrait of epic power that does not shy away from social issues that are still highly topical in today's Poland. The film was celebrated in the Venice Competition and, in the spirit of the great director Andrzej Wajda, believes that cinema has the power to change!
