Exhibition from June 15 to September 1, 2024
The Berlin-based Ukrainian artist Sofiia Yesakova is showing two sculptures in her exhibition Recollecting the emptiness. They are wooden pillars whose surfaces are painted with gesso and acrylic paint. This work reflects on the perception of war and the objectification of war experiences. She examines the rationality and emotionality of war and the inability to grasp the reality of war victims. Her work calls for a radical change in the logic of thought and an awakening from our comfort zone.
