PROVIANT *Polar Publik

Fifteen people sit around a festively laid table, perhaps they have come to this place together, perhaps they have never seen each other before. All they know about each other are their first names. There is plenty of food and drink. Or is something missing? Perhaps something intangible, non-material? Or something very concrete? What does lack mean in a world of abundance? Where does it manifest itself? And for whom at all? And what effect does it have?

With PROVIANT, *POLAR PUBLIK have created an interactive performance that incorporates literary and musical elements, while the themes reflect the scientific zeitgeist. In previous performances of PROVIANT, for example as part of the Droste Festival 2023, the collective explored Pauline Oliviero's "Environmental Dialogue", the "Dyad Exercise" from neurologist Tania Singer's empathy research and the narrative method of the "Stream of Consciousness".

The composer Oxana Omelchuk records the conversations, constructs sounds from the original sounds and creates a 5-minute composition from them, which can still be heard during the conversation. In this way, the material becomes aesthetically effective in a completely different way, beyond the personal experience.
