Psychedelic Porn Crumpets on tour through Germany in spring 2024

No sooner had Psychedelic Porn Crumpets been enthusiastically celebrated on tour with us in the summer than the Australians are now back with their sixth studio album, which will be released next month. The psychedelic rock five-piece have been working on "Fronzoli" since the release of "Night Gnomes" in 2022 - a title that describes something that is actually unnecessary but urgently needed as decoration. Just like the ruffles on the blouse that give the album its name, borrowed from Italian. "This record is my favorite work to date," says songwriter and frontman Jack McEwan, "because every nuance has been discussed, critiqued, twisted and carefully tweaked, occasionally painting outside the lines so that these extroverted flourishes remain." Indeed, the album captivates with the Perth band's over-the-top, glitzy sound, which incorporates influences from classic rock greats like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles, as well as electronic, experimental jazz. These rock influences can be clearly heard on "Fronzoli", with thrashy grunge tracks such as "Sierra Nevada" and the furious "Hot! Heat! Wow! Hot!", which showcase the band's hyperactive guitars and quirky lyrics. The band of old friends have just found and perfected their way of working and are rightly proud of their cheerful disorder when it comes to songwriting and production. "Dilemma Us From Evil" - the latest single from the album following "(I'm a Kadaver) Alakazam" and "Nootmare (K-I-L-L-I-N-G) Meow!", which was presented earlier this summer - is a prime example of the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets' amazing blend of heavy, melodic guitars, eccentric lyrics and complex songwriting. Of course, the Aussies won't miss the opportunity to come back on tour with their new record in March.
