Psychic Liberation (PL) is a label founded in 2013 that originally ran with Miguel Alvariño under the title Primitive Languages as a cassette and record store project in New York City. Since 2019, it has been run solo from the EU by Nick Klein under the title Psychic Liberation. On May 8, Anne Gillis, HMOT, Diego Behncke and Tinnitustimulus will perform at the monthly concert series of the same name at Roter Salon - curated by Hugo Esquinca and Nick Klein.

Anne Gillis' album 'Aha', originally released in 1984, was only recently re-released on the La Scie Dorée label. The album by the French cult pioneer is a lesser-known masterpiece that presses concrète tape experiments into dizzying cosmic synthesizer works. Anne Gillis continues to evolve musically, some of her works constructed around primitive noise and bug sounds, others around the cohesion of her unsettling vocals. HMOT is the solo music project of Stas Shärifulla, a Basel-based artist and researcher working with sound and decoloniality. Hailing from Eastern Siberia, Russia, Stas, of Bashqort heritage, explores how the diversity of sound and listening practices serve as tools for community building, preservation of collective memory, political imagination and action ethnography. A self-taught Quraysı, Stas structures his live performances around the idea of how musical tradition is transformed when addressed by someone of distant, secondary origin.

Diego Behncke is a Berlin-based artist. His work is realized within the framework of synthesis, fictional systems, abstraction and the limits of understanding as relational structures. His works, which take shape through veiling operations with different materials, appear as a misuse of leftover conceptual and technical by-products, an emphasis on epistemic errors and a strategic misdirection of ambiguity. For several years he has been publishing sound works, running his label Prensa Manual and participating in various exhibitions.

Tinnitustimulus is an American harsh noise project based in Providence, Rhode Island. Since 2004, Tinnitustimulus has played hundreds of dynamic performances across the United States. Through the friction of found metals, tape loops and feedback, a unique intensity is achieved in each performance.
