In 2008, Cris Moreira gave birth to twins and lost one of her children, Francisco, at the age of just two days. In this lecture-performance, the Brazilian artist uses documentary and audiovisual means to revisit her grief and address the invisibility of pain in a society that treats pregnancy as a public event but the loss of a child as a private one. By asking who is willing to listen to a mother when she talks about death, the work broadens the discussion about motherhood and family and the loneliness that accompanies parental grief.

Cris Moreira is an actress and cultural manager with a Master's degree in Performing Arts. She is a founding member of Esparrama! Cultural Management and Production and the artist collective Conectores, where she works at the intersection of theater, performance and audiovisual media. She has worked on productions such as the award-winning play Rosa Choque (2015), which deals with violence against women. In 2017, the production won the Sinparc Award in the categories of Best Show, Direction, Performance and Lighting, and the following year it was awarded in the Mais Festa section of the Setúbal International Theater Festival in Portugal. Quadra 16 was shown in 2024 as part of the Literatura no Palladium project in Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais) and at the Mostra Internacional de Teatro de Sao Paulo 2025.
