At the fYrefly summer camp in the woods of Alberta, Canada, queer and trans* teens experience what it means to live out their identity authentically. They are guided by inclusive counselors to express themselves, explore their identities and crushes, and make friends. The camp offers a safe space to deal with difficulties such as coming out or self-harm. They support each other with their respective challenges, be it overcoming their fear of horses or coming out as trans* to their own parents. Through craft and sports activities and marshmallow barbecues, they forge important relationships and simply enjoy being boys.
