silent green presents
Rachel Sermanni is a Scottish singer/songwriter who makes the everyday moments mystical: shock-positive pregnancy tests in train station toilets, broken coffee machines, cold river baths, regretting not saying 'I love you', the moon and how it draws, bare feet on wooden floors, the soft glow of a houseplant, 'what is consciousness anyway? ', strange dreams that linger in the still morning hours... She bursts with dreamy indie-folk-pop that tells of the struggle and desire for flow, love, life and feelings. Sometimes her songs speak of the rare moments of stillness found in the midst of this dilemma and desire.
Jessie Monk, Australian artist between Melbourne/Naarm and Berlin, spins new stories with old threads, inspired by ancient myths, Celtic and Appalachian folk traditions as well as experimental art forms such as Butoh and New Music. Together with her band, she unfolds a world of sound that is both grounded and dreamlike, touching the audience with poetic, dreamy and thought-provoking compositions.
