Rah & the Ruffcats

2024 sees the release of RAH & The Ruffcats' first LP under the eponymous title on the Berlin music label Sonar Kollektiv.
A long-standing, friendly relationship and numerous joint jams and sessions between the Nigerian-born, Berlin-based rapper and singer RAH (Rapturous Apollo Helios) and the seven-piece hip hop / neo-soul / funk / Afrobeat band The Ruffcats (including Georgia Anne Muldrow, Dudley Perkins, Samy Deluxe, Retrogott, Flo Mega) have resulted in a fruitful collaboration in recent years, with the first joint single entitled "Shifting Sands" released in 2018. At the end of last year, the project presented its first demos in the scene - with an excellent response. The desire to release a joint album was born. The recordings for the debut have now been completed. The project is expressly not intended to be a one-off; RAH & The Ruffcats want to establish themselves as a studio and live band in the long term.
