One hot summer during the coronavirus pandemic, the property management company decides to have Karsten's apartment renovated and gives him notice. It is uncertain whether he will quickly find something new in Cologne. But Karsten remains relaxed. He packs his mattress into the borrowed removal van and turns it into an improvised home. Sophie and Miray also urgently need an apartment and join Karsten. For a while, the community seems perfect. But a few days turn into months. Too much closeness and the impending fall cold get to the three of them. (Hofer Filmtage) Karsten has created a refuge from the city in a small one-room apartment. But he was naïve enough to move in without a fixed tenancy agreement. When the property manager Wennmacher decides to renovate, Karsten ends up on the street. But Karsten remains relaxed and comes up with a plan: he packs his mattress into the removal van and turns it into an improvised home. Sophie and Miray are in the same boat and join Karsten's nomadic lifestyle. The community seems perfect, and a few days soon turn into months. But too much closeness and the impending autumn cold get to the three of them. When the community dissolves, Karsten finally gives up. A way out of homelessness no longer seems within his grasp. But on a walk through the streets, he meets his drunken ex-property manager Wennmacher again. Sensing a strange opportunity, Karsten pretends to be successful in the housing market.
