In the organizer's words:
Why Razor & Canvas?
When I first visited Jessie’s Gents and Giants, I immediately felt that my artwork belonged there.
At first glance, a men’s barbershop and abstract art don’t have much in common. But if you look closer, both speak to personality, courage, and the desire to forge your own path.
A good haircut doesn’t happen by chance. It requires experience, precision, and the courage to make decisions. Art works in a similar way. Every line, every layer of paint, and every mark on the canvas is the result of intuition, risk-taking, and trust in one’s own process.
The name Razor & Canvas brings these two worlds together. The razor symbolizes clarity, craftsmanship, and precision. The canvas symbolizes freedom, expression, and the willingness to let something new emerge.
In my work, dark surfaces meet neon colors, calm meets energy, and control meets chaos. These are precisely the contrasts I encounter in life as well. Many of my works speak of change, resilience, and the decision to keep moving forward despite all uncertainties.
This exhibition is therefore more than a collection of images. It is a dialogue between two creative crafts that, at first glance, seem different yet converge on one point: both leave their mark.
And sometimes the most interesting things emerge precisely where edges meet color.
