In the red light district of Kolkata, sex workers and their children set up their own film production company. Instead of submitting to their predetermined fate, they take up the camera themselves: they write and produce their own films - and resolutely confront poverty, stigma and patriarchal structures. They play themselves and while their everyday lives are characterized by precarious conditions, life and fiction become increasingly blurred. With every scene, the women fight for visibility and the right to tell their own story, always in the hope of a better future for their daughters.
