LIVE: daS KArtell
The Lübeck formation "DaS KArtell" has been bringing snappy uptempo ska in German to North German stages since 1995. Frontman Florian Grombein previously played in the equally legendary HL-Sydikat and founded the new band together with trumpeter Wolfgang Lohr (Berlin).
Whether at the Fabrik in Hamburg, the Pumpe in Kiel, the So36 in Berlin or the Schlachthof Bremen: The gentlemen from the Baltic Sea can look back on 30 years of stage history in 2025 - and listeners notice that immediately.
Their role models are bands like The Specials, Hotknives and Mr. Review.
At the end of 2024, the eight ska enthusiasts recorded new songs, which will be released on all streaming platforms every five weeks from spring 2025.
In three decades, the smart Hanseatic band took a few years off shortly after the millennium. A new formation with musicians from Wismar took place as early as 2003. Even today, the artistic fusion of these two Hanseatic cities plays a decisive role in the spirit of the band.

For more than 10 years, Johnny Reggae has been serving the night dance floors in Kiel and far beyond. He has made it his mission to keep Jamaican music such as early reggae, rocksteady and ska alive in the north of the republic and has already proven this with countless events and continues to prove this with REGGAE + SKA in the Hansa48.
