Mountains where history was made: "World Mountains - the 4th Dimension" is Reinhold Messner's latest and most visually stunning presentation.
It shows thirteen selected world mountains in a hitherto unknown way. Digital images were created at the German Aerospace Center on the basis of satellite images. From these images, scientists, whose pictures Messner presents here exclusively, created three-dimensional, photorealistic images. This made it possible to create "virtual" representations from previously unthinkable perspectives and with unprecedented accuracy. The viewer thus becomes a participant in historical expeditions and at the same time witnesses
new, upcoming alpine challenges. Never before has it been possible to retrace or plan climbing routes on the mountain with such precision.
With his impressive knowledge and experience from his expeditions, Reinhold Messner brings the technically brilliant images to life. In the lecture, alpine experience reports are complemented by the latest satellite-supported visualization technology, knowledge of the history of climbing and photographic know-how.
