René Jacobs dirigiert Carmen | Bizets berühmte Oper in Starbesetzung

We are celebrating two Konzerthaus premieres with this concert opera evening. For the first time, original sound specialist René Jacobs introduces himself to Dortmund audiences. Together with the B'Rock Orchestra, the conductor sets out to rediscover Bizet's "Carmen" in a version as the composer intended it before the director of the Opéra Comique de Paris demanded major changes. Changes that Bizet had to deliver as a service provider, although he was deeply dissatisfied with them. With the help of Bizet luminary Paul Prevost, the Bärenreiter publishing house has analyzed the manuscripts and reconstructed a "Carmen" as it has never been heard before.
