RESET*B-SET – Doppelkonzertabend mit Live-Visuals

In the organizer's words:

Weather permitting, we will start the evening outside at 18:30 with an audiovisual improv performance at the Schildköte (silo in front of the B-Side at the harbor). Light artist KATRIN BETHGE's light painting on the overhead projector will meet the sound music of Leipzig violinist ERIC SACHER. (In case of bad weather: in the B-Side.)

From 19:00 there will be chili sin carne for all hungry people at the B-Side Cafe (for a donation, while stocks last). The double concert evening B-SET kicks off at 19:30 with an enchantingly intimate solo concert. The music of indie folk songwriter ANTONÍ is rooted in nature and combines clear acoustic elements with organic electronics and mystical melodies with restless, soul-searching lyrics.

At 20:30 there is the second part in the hall, where the brand new (!) and fantastically grooving ethno-jazz ensemble SUNA VENTO meets the live visuals of KATRIN BETHGE. Suna Vento inspires with its euphoric sound, which combines traditional sounds from the Middle East, West Africa and India with modern arrangements. Hypnotic beats meet soulful melodies. With such a colorful soundscape, the quartet creates a stirring and deeply emotional live experience that unites listeners from all walks of life on the dance floor. Katrin Bethge's ephemeral paintings must also be experienced live. Light-refracting objects, liquids and everyday materials are moved directly on the projector's work surface, creating cosmic and microscopic spaces of light. - Don't miss this!

INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS

KATRIN BETHGE (Hamburg):

Katrin Bethge began working with light in 1999 after studying illustration at HAW Hamburg. Her overhead projections accompany projects in the fields of dance, theater, music and installation. In a duo with bassist John Eckhardt, she has realized various light and sound installations. The multi-award-winning light artist has already transformed many places with her art, from Schleswig Cathedral to the Elbphilharmonie and the Konzerthaus Berlin. She has also performed at various festivals such as the Luminale and EVI Lichtungen. Katrin Bethge's projections must be experienced live. As ephemeral paintings, they transform the surfaces of the space into which they fall. Refractive objects, liquids and everyday materials are moved directly on the working surface of the projector, creating cosmic and microscopic spaces of light.

ERIC SACHER (Leipzig):

Eric Sacher is a violinist and composer from Leipzig who works with effects, sound alienation and an extraordinary improvisational energy. His music crosses stylistic boundaries and moves between hip-hop, jazz, new music, fusion and punk. Sacher combines virtuosity with curiosity and an open understanding of sound that constantly places the violin in new contexts. His performances are characterized by spontaneity, dense interaction and a keen sense of structure and chaos. Eric Sacher stands for a generation of musicians who understand genre boundaries as a playing surface and live musical diversity as an attitude.

ANTONÍ (Leipzig):

Antoní is an up-and-coming indie folk songwriter from Leipzig. She released her debut album Holding Tight Lightly in spring 2024. Her music is rooted in nature and combines clear acoustic elements with organic electronics, mystical melodies with restless, soul-searching lyrics. With a warm and fragile timbre and open-tuned instruments, she sings about her recurring themes: the search for wisdom in nature, the urban-rural divide, generational conflict, connection and change. ANTONÍ creates a delicate field of tension between melancholic-poetic songwriter music and modern textures. At the B_SETS evening, she will perform a small, intimate solo set in the living room. So let us take you on a touching musical journey!

SUNA VENTO (Leipzig):

Suna Vento is a brand new (and red hot!) project from Leipzig. The fusion ensemble inspires with its euphoric ethno-groove jazz, which combines traditional sounds from the Middle East, West Africa and India with modern arrangements and a contemporary sound. Hypnotic beats meet soulful melodies. With such a colorful sound, the band takes its audience on a musical journey that transcends cultural boundaries.
