On October 17, the Italian singer, guitarist and composer Riccardo Doppio, together with his 8-musician ensemble consisting of a band and string quartet, will give a 2-hour concert (Notte Italiana) in the rooms of the Zentrum Altenberg.
The artist, who was born in Sardinia, came to Gelsenkirchen in the Ruhr area as a child 50 years ago and has worked with many well-known artists such as Udo Lindenberg, Alex Britti and Dante Thomas in the course of his long musical career.
Riccardo Doppio's concerts are characterized by a mixture of his own songs, reinterpretations of Italian classics and funny anecdotes about Italy and the Ruhr region. "Being close to my audience is so important to me. My songs are a lot about love and friends, about Italian longing, but also about the very simple things in life. I live that every day in my private life, in my music and at my concerts."
