Richard Güth is a musician by vocation. An early musical upbringing, youth band experience such as with Alma Ata or Slow Motion, guitarist in the Bundeswehr Big Band, followed by a degree in jazz and popular music at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and appearances in the WDR Big Band and the WDR Radio Orchestra brought him countless engagements as a studio and side musician with artists such as Jonny Logan, Shirley Bassey, Howard Carpendale, John Lord and many more. From 1988, he was also permanently employed as lead guitarist with Starlight Express in Bochum.
Sideman for artists such as: Jonny Logan, Shirley Bassey, Howard Carpendale, Joan Oreans, Gilian Scalicie, Katharina Valente, Marlene Charell, Joy Fleming, Bill Ramsey, Peter Hofmann, Andy Borg, Chris Howland, Jennifer Rush, John Lord (Deep Purple) and others.
His musical love is jazz and blues, which he has indulged in over the past decades with his bands such as Night Train with Stevie Woods or the Pamela Falcon Bluesband and Drue Williams Bluesband. Richard Güth and the L.A. Blues is his current band project, which he founded with friends and colleagues to continue pursuing this love.
