A tribute to Jewish entertainers
This is the title of Robert Kreis' program based on the book of the same name by Ulrich Liebe.
For 50 years now, Robert Kreis has been the conservator and presenter of the art of cabaret and entertainment of the 20th and 30th centuries, which has sunk like a Titanic to the bottom of the sea. Unlike his colleagues, he is less interested in "Der kleine grüne Kaktus" or "Veronica der Lenz ist da". He is more interested in the gems of cabaret that have never or rarely appeared on shellac or other contemporary documents. Using the book "Verehrt, Verfolgt, Vergessen" (Honored, Persecuted, Forgotten), Robert Kreis takes the audience on a literary journey through the unique, creative and crazy world of Jewish-German entertainment art and its artists. Based on their life stories and their repertoire, Robert Kreis resurrects artists such as Kurt Gerron, Paul O' Montis and Willy Rosen for a brief moment. With this program, Robert Kreis fights against forgetting these unique artists and their art and shows the vitality of their immortal humour, intelligence and cheerfulness.
An evening with Robert Kreis - unforgettable!
