In 2006, the debut Introducing Robin McKelle explored a dozen timeless standards of the swing era such as "Come Rain or Come Shine", "Night and Day" or "On the Sunny Side of the Street". Her current album, on the other hand, draws from just one source, which is probably also her greatest artistic influence: Ella Fitzgerald. "The concept of recording Ella's music is based on the fact that she was my first encounter with vocal jazz. I learned so much from her singing. The style of her, Swing Feels' and her way of singing in general resonates strongly with me!"
"My voice has matured and I've also grown a lot as a woman. I feel like I've reached a point in my life where these lyrics resonate with me and I can sing these stories because I've experienced them. That was no longer my twenty-year-old self who really couldn't understand it yet because she hadn't experienced the loss of true love at that point in her life. So I felt like I needed to come back to that music at my current age and maturity."
