A dog lives alone in Manhattan and wants nothing more than a friend by his side. So, without further ado, he buys a robot so that he no longer has to be alone. From the very first second, the two are inseparable and experience a summer full of fun and joy. After the robot rusts during a trip to the beach and gets stuck in the sand, the dog has to carry on with his life without his best friend. But the memory of their friendship remains and as the seasons pass, the animal tries to fill the emotional void left by the loss of its best friend. So it makes and loses new friends, from a melting snowman to hedonistic anteaters. For the robot, on the other hand, who is rusting away on the beach, dreams are the only salvation from loneliness. A heart-warming animated film about the adventurous friendship between a dog and a robot in New York City in the 1980s, without any dialog at all. (Berger, ES FR 2023 - FSK 0)
