Rock am Kuhteich 2026

In the organizer's words:

From May 7 to 9, 2026 , Rock am Kuhteich will once again kick off the season - as a deliberately small and informal festival in the Kulturpark Deutzen. Instead of an anonymous large-scale event, visitors can expect a festival with short distances, proximity to the stage, a relaxed atmosphere, camping under old trees and hand-picked acts.

What initially sounds like a "provincial" festival has grown from this: a festival organized on a voluntary basis that has become a fixed date in the German-speaking festival landscape since its first edition in 2010. The focus is on both established names and the "headliners of tomorrow", who are given a stage in the Kulturpark. Eight Buckets of Chicken Hearts, 100 Kilo Herz, Focus, DDP, Götz Widmann, Elfmorgen and Powder for Pigeons are among those announced for 2026. The music at Rock am Kuhteich is diverse - the festival, which originally had a strong punk focus, has become a place where punk, folk, stoner, ska, singer-songwriter and humppa acts come together as a matter of course.

There are two stages and no overlapping bands, so that visitors can see all the acts without having to choose between parallel concerts. There is also a band caching game where prizes can be collected. Even bad weather is no problem, thanks to a canopy in front of the stage.

The Kulturpark Deutzen is located in Leipzig's Neuseenland region, around 30 kilometers south of Leipzig, and is easily accessible - including via the S-Bahn/train connection and the nearby freeway.

The festival is run by Kulturdesign e. V., supported by a team of over 100 volunteers. Of course, developments and challenges in recent years - from the effects of coronavirus to organizational requirements and cost increases - have made it clear that even a festival organized on a voluntary basis is not a sure-fire success. The association is therefore all the more looking forward to an anniversary edition with many special festival moments and memorable concerts.
