The "Open Rock + Pop Choir Singing" is the "slightly different" choir event, because the focus here is on having fun singing.

The monthly rock and pop choir singing has been well established at WERK°STADT since April 2022. A colorful mix of regulars and welcome newcomers have always appeared at the events under the direction of Helmut Brasse. Although the event is scheduled to last two hours, the three-hour mark has often been reached!

On 22.12.25, the monthly "Open Rock and Pop Choir Singing" will be extended to include a "Christmas Edition". Some of the most beautiful Christmas pop classics will be sung on this evening, including songs by Slade and John Lennon. The other pieces have not yet been decided - except for the fact that this evening will definitely be a "Last Christmas"-free affair.....

In "Rock and Pop Choir Singing", several songs are practiced under the direction of musician and music journalist Helmut Brasse. At the end of each evening there is a joint final concert.
In contrast to so-called "pack singing", the songs are often sung in several voices. However, knowledge of sheet music is not required, the focus is always on having fun singing together.

About the person:
Helmut Brasse from Witten was born in 1960 and became interested in the beat music of the time at the early age of 6. In his case, this was to shape his life. Via detours such as the record trade and business studies (final thesis on the "sound carrier industry"), his path led him to radio, where he still works as a freelance music author today.
