Concert
Roman Lemberg and Michael Kleine have been working together for many years. Together they realize performances and concerts in institutions of the visual and performing arts and at other different locations. They incorporate the history and context of the respective environment into their work and incorporate artifacts, music and images into their performances. Roman Lemberg is a dramaturge, composer and plays various keyboard instruments. His practice encompasses styles and genres ranging from electronic music and organ improvisations to arrangements of works from the classical opera repertoire. As an organist, he is interested in the traditions of sacred music. Michael Kleine's practice moves between the formats of stage design, performance, architecture, direction, music and sculpture, always in close dialog with the location and context. In all genres, he develops concepts for encounters between visitors, artists and art itself.
As part of the Kantine project by Isabel Lewis & Dirk Bell, Roman Lemberg & Michael Kleine are developing a performative concert: Repos deals with the magical effects of music. In ancient times, it was believed that music could put menacing monsters to sleep and calm worries.
The meeting point for Repos is in the Sophiensæle canteen. In the course of the evening, the audience goes together to the Sophienkirche in the immediate vicinity and back to the canteen.
