Choreographic world premiere

The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is probably the most famous love story in world literature. It tells of the secret love of two young people whose connection is perhaps so intense and unconditional precisely because it is not permitted. Romeo and Juliet experience the few days they can be together as if in a frenzy before Romeo has to flee because of a revenge murder. The redemptive message that Juliet is only apparently dead and that they can make a new start together somewhere else reaches him too late. Antoine Jully choreographs to Sergei Prokofiev's incisive ballet score, performed by the Oldenburg State Orchestra.
