ROMES - Raw Overdriven Mind Expansion Systems - is an electronic rock duo from Toronto, Canada, consisting of two brothers. The pair fuse analog chaos with digital precision to create a unique, high-energy sound that draws influences from 90s grunge and electro to industrial and dance-punk. The debut album SONIC TRASH (to be released independently on November 14, 2025) is at once abrasive and polished, electronic yet deeply human. It combines DIY experimentation and distorted synthesizers with driving rhythms and the energy and attitude of punk, reminiscent of the bloghouse era.

Siblings Jacob (vocals, guitar, synths) and Nicolas (drums) have honed their craft over the years and retain full artistic control in everything they do: from music production, mixing and mastering to artwork, merch design and video direction. This independence allows the duo to pursue their vision without compromise - a project that pushes boundaries until something new breaks through the noise.

Even before they had finished elementary school, the two brothers were already recording demos on an 8-track recorder in their parents' basement, experimenting with the limited technical possibilities available at the time. Today, they have an arsenal of synths, guitars and effects pedals at their disposal and with ROMES they bridge the gap between glitchy analog sounds and modern, brute production. They regularly show their passion for equipment and experimentation on their social media channels, where they experiment with unconventional production techniques, such as using acoustic drums to drive modular synthesizers. This hybrid approach, in which synths and traditional rock instruments not only coexist but also drive each other, has already led to collaborations and projects for Call of Duty and Moog. As NME magazine wrote of their work on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: "The duo helped break up the polished moments of the score with growling guitars and thundering drums."

ROMES' live shows - a living system of machines, drums and guitars in constant feedback - oscillate between brute riffs and distorted electronics. The result is an unpredictable yet coherent experience that combines the past and the future, the organic and the synthetic. Rhythmic, hypnotic four-to-the-floor beats quickly transform into aggressive rock grooves, creating a rousing show that works equally well on dance floors and in mosh pits.
