Rot Couture: DRK-Kleiderladen feiert einjähriges Bestehen mit einem Jubiläumsfest

Anniversary celebration on September 26 featuring fashion shows, live music, and awards for social projects

Just over a year ago, the DRK thrift store Rot Couture – DRK Anziehpunkt opened at Kleine Klausstraße 2. From the very beginning, the project has aimed for more than just selling high-quality secondhand fashion: Rot Couture combines sustainable consumption with social engagement and creates a place for people to meet and interact right in the heart of Halle’s downtown.

To mark its first anniversary, the DRK Anziehpunkt is now taking stock—and at the same time taking another step forward in its social mission.

The concept is as simple as it is effective: well-preserved clothing is given a second life, customers can shop sustainably, and the proceeds—after covering costs—flow back into the city. These funds are used to support social projects and initiatives in Halle that help people, foster connections, and strengthen social cohesion.

For the first time, the proceeds will now be donated to social projects in Halle and the surrounding region. The projects to be awarded funding will be announced during the anniversary celebration.

The anniversary celebration will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Rot Couture, Kleine Klausstraße 2, 06108 Halle (Saale).

Together with Halle’s Mayor Dr. Alexander Vogt, the Chairwoman of the Board of the DRK Saxony-Anhalt Regional Association, Katja Fischer, and Tobias Heinicke, District Director of the DRK Halle-Saalkreis-Mansfelder Land e. V. District Association, will present awards to the winners from a total of 24 submitted projects.

Visitors can look forward to a varied program that afternoon: Volunteers from the clothing store will present selected secondhand fashion in fashion shows. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Schefski Trio. In addition, food and beverages will be offered by the Dorint Hotel Halle.

Customers, partners, volunteers, and anyone interested in getting to know the DRK Anziehpunkt and celebrating its first anniversary together are invited to attend.

Since its opening, Rot Couture has become a go-to destination for lovers of high-quality secondhand fashion. At the same time, the store has evolved into a gathering place. Knitting and crocheting afternoons, fashion shows, workshops, and other events provide opportunities for exchange, shared engagement, and new connections.

Rot Couture thus exemplifies an approach that combines sustainability with social engagement: used clothing is given a second chance—and at the same time, a place is created in the heart of Halle where people can come together and support others.
