ROUTINE w/ Shinedoe

In the summer, we kick off our ROUTINE on Minh’s balcony. As dusk falls, we get the party started. Sets by the headliners play through the boombox. Then more and more people show up, and it’s a real struggle to get everyone to head out in time to catch the early bird discount. It doesn’t work out again. Once inside, we inevitably lose track of each other. Some find each other again on the hour—for a round of shots. There’s dancing and chatting. Here, a track that hits you right in the heart. There, a conversation that goes nowhere. Or the other way around. As morning approaches, the night becomes more open. Faces soften, conversations become more honest, and the dance floor expands. And for a few moments, it seems as though we’re all watching the same movie. And we’re celebrating the soundtrack.
