CARRIE NATION & THE SPEAKEASY is a high-energy "Brass 'n' Grass" quintet from the USA. Their eclectic mix of bluegrass, ska, punk and Dixieland has brought the band to packed basements, clubs and festivals around the world since their formation in 2007.
CNS has built a solid fan base in 49 states and 8 countries with their energetic live show and ability to share the stage with bands of various genres from bluegrass to rockabilly, punk to ska. Their smart songwriting is enhanced by artful arrangements and unconventional instrumentation to create an unmistakable sound. Percussive guitar rhythms and breakneck mandolin solos meld with blaring trombone and trumpet lines, while the standup bass and propulsive drums create urgent rhythms that have the power of a Kansas freight train.
