In the organizer's words:

Luisa and Kilian from holzwerkstattzwei are passionate about working with solid wood and operate at the interface between object and interior design and craftsmanship. Their work is characterized by a deep understanding of materials and techniques. As guests at waslangewert, they open up a creative space with the veneer workshop in which participants can get to know the material veneer, develop their own designs and implement them by hand - regardless of previous knowledge.

What you can expect:

In the workshop, you will learn about the properties of the versatile material veneer and find out how it can be shaped, joined and further processed. You will develop your own ideas, implement them by hand and come into contact with woodworking techniques step by step. At the end, you will have the opportunity to take home two self-designed and built objects of your choice.

The workshop concept:

• Introduction to the material wood veneer and its creative possibilities
• Production of cylindrical objects such as bowls, caskets and vessels
• Joint design and further development of your own ideas
• Open, creative working process with individual supervision
• Space to try things out, learn and exchange ideas
• Suitable for all skill levels - from first contact to more in-depth knowledge

Previous knowledge is not necessary. The workshop is structured in such a way that all participants can work at their own pace and gain confidence in handling materials and tools. The focus is on the process, understanding the material and the joy of creating.

Key data:

The workshop lasts approx. 3 hours including introduction, joint design and construction phase and exchange. The course leader will be present the entire time to provide support and assistance. The workshop takes place on:

The workshop will take place at Grindelallee 129 in Hamburg. The events are hosted by waslangewert in cooperation with holzwerkstattzwei. The premises are supported by the Hamburger Kreativ Gesellschaft. All tools and materials are available. Drinks are available on a donation basis.
