Rundgang: Montblanc im Schanzenviertel

In the organizer's words:

On the tour, you will learn how fountain pens and other products were manufactured by the Hamburg-based company Montblanc in the Kontorhaus between Schanzenstrasse and Bartelsstrasse (now the Hamburg Adult Education Center) for over 70 years. The Montblanc Brand Heritage Team will guide you through the area and provide background information on the architectural, industrial and district history. On the one hand, they look back at the history of the district and at the same time show other facets of selected buildings in what is now Hamburg's Sternenschanze.

Montblanc's international headquarters have been in Hamburg for almost 120 years - the writing instruments are still produced in the world's only manufactory in the Hanseatic city. You can find out more about the history of the company and the manufacture of the writing instruments in the INSPIRE WRITING exhibition in the MONTBLANC HAUS at Hamburg Volkspark, which will open in 2022.
