In the organizer's words:
From the Theaterhaus Jena
Are you also constantly hoarse after demos? Or are there too few chants for you, but you don't yet dare to start one yourself? Would you like to be louder, but don't quite want to? Or perhaps you would like to give a speech and are wondering how to do it so that it comes across well? Have you been giving speeches for a while but would like to know how to reach the demonstration participants even better?
In this workshop, we will focus on the topic of voice and speaking at demonstrations. The first part will be about discovering your own voice at shouting volume, getting used to the sound, daring to be really loud and learning exercises that will help you not to overload your voice while having fun. In the second part, we will look at how speeches can be designed in such a way that they reach the listener better. We will look at speaking techniques, learn small exercises for preparation and there will be room to try things out.
Both parts are aimed at anyone who is interested. It doesn't matter whether you were at your first demonstration recently and are wondering how to shout along really loudly, whether you go to demonstrations all the time and finally want to give a speech but are afraid that nobody will clap in the right places, or whether you have already given demonstration speeches but want to reach your audience even better: everybody is welcome. In the second part, you can also just attend and support the people who want to try it out as listeners.
You can of course bring your own tried and tested or pending speech, but that is not a prerequisite! We will have a sample speech for you to try out. Otherwise, bring comfortable clothes that you can lie on the floor in, or a yoga mat/cloth to lie on.
