SAINT FLESH is a remix format consisting of a sports program, media jour fixe, art talk and live tutorial. The subject of the discussions is the body as an interface between theater & sport, and the visualization of the body on stage from a queer perspective.
Every two months, Duygu Ağal and Ricarda Hillermann invite guests from the border area of theater/performance and sport to examine a sport in terms of its theatrical-aesthetic and performative content.
Duygu Ağal is an author and former association league player and loyal knee injury victim. Ağal is convinced that as a cis-man for her league assignments, she would never have to host this show, let alone ever do paid work again. He has now turned his back on ball sports for good and is now boxing after a six-month break so as not to lose his desire to write.
Ricarda Hillermann would never admit that her job as an assistant dramaturge at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz is actually only part-time so that she can afford her lifestyle as an amateur cyclist. If she knew better, she would have given up sport long ago.
