The year is 2001 and somewhere, high up in the mountains of Tyrol, a German notary and his friends are surprised by the sudden onset of winter during a mountain hike. They have to drive back down to the valley on a snow-covered road - which turns into a horror drive.
What follows is a 13-page letter of complaint to the manager responsible for the toll road. Lois Hechenblaikner manages to "intercept" this letter of complaint. He replies to the notary under a pseudonym in a hilarious and playful manner, creating a congenial satire that reveals the true relationship between Germans and Austrians.
The Tyrolean photographer and artist Lois Hechenblaikner takes a critical look at tourism-related change and society in the Alpine region and documents this with unwavering curiosity. In the Salon, he presents a special selection of his pictures and stories.
