Gallery 2
In her solo exhibition Weep Holes, Entwistle uses the characteristics of the underground spaces of E-WERK for her sculptural installations. Patina, decay and industrial residue function as active materials in makeshift assemblages of recycled fragments, ceramics, textiles, archival material and live environmental sounds.
The title of the exhibition refers to letters between Entwistle's great-grandmother Viviane and her grandfather Clive about water ingress, material decay and repeated repairs. The artist combines her sculptural structures with physical porosity and networking. On this basis, she creates resonant spaces between architecture, body and memory that extend feminist materialist practices.
