Saxophonquartett clair obscur feat. Sebastian Heindl, Hammondorgel

The saxophone quartet clair obscur has been one of the most renowned quartets of its kind for many years, with performances at Carnegie Hall, the Philharmonie Berlin, the Lucerne Festival and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival [...]

clair-obscur was the first saxophone quartet to be admitted to the chamber music exam at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music, where they were taught by Prof. Friedemann Weigle (Artemis Quartet). Weigle gave the four musicians the courage to be independent and the "ability to rock'n'roll" (by which he did not mean the genre, but a vital, gripping way of playing) and formed the four completely different characters into a unit.

The quartet has won national and international competitions.

InSpirit - Jazz as a spiritual musical experience in the Gedächtniskirche

For many years, the InSpirit series has characterized the summer in the Gedächtniskirche: the combination of contemporary jazz music and spiritual content in a church space is unique in Berlin.
The famous blue light of the stained glass windows creates an incomparable atmosphere to enjoy jazz as a spiritual musical experience. Renowned jazz musicians from Germany and abroad perform the evenings of the series together with theologians.
The artistic director of InSpirit is the organist of the Gedächtniskirche, Sebastian Heindl. He not only brings his personal enthusiasm for contemporary jazz to the selection of the invited musicians, but also takes part in some evenings on the large organ or Hammond organ himself.
