Three days and nights full of variety, fascination and creative magic - the Schauraum will once again transform the city of Münster into a huge stage for art and culture from August 29 to 31. Look forward to a multifaceted program, specially staged squares and a special atmosphere in the city!
On Thursday (29.08.), the Schauraum will open at 5 pm in the Domplatz-Park (formerly Westfalenfleiß-Parkplatz am Dom). As a central meeting point and information venue, this area will be open on all three days and nights of the event. An ambience of relaxed park lounge with weekly market flair awaits you here: with live and DJ music, the white design furniture by Ron Arad offers comfortable seating. Food and drink will be provided thanks to the market vendors from Münster's famous weekly market. The first cultural highlight takes place at 6.30 p.m., when the Saurüssel Theater returns to the cathedral square. This year, not at a dizzying height, but in the form of a procession: the theater group takes the audience on a magical dream journey into imaginative intermediate worlds.
On Friday and Saturday (30./31.08.), the Erbdrostenhof celebrates its anniversary, as the Mediterranean flair of an Italian piazza has been enchanting its guests for 20 years. Here you can enjoy culinary delights at the long table while listening to opera arias performed live from the balcony of the baroque palace. With the art project HEIMAT-KARTE, artist Satomi Edo and KULTUR in FAHRT e.V. invite you to the cycle station at the main railway station. There is also a program for young people interested in culture: Thanks to the Schauraum's main sponsor Brillux, a children's theater production of the classic children's book "Zinnober in der grauen Stadt" will take place for the first time at the LWL Museum of Art and Culture. The Berlin theater ensemble United Puppets tells the story of a painter who lives in a grey city and wants to bring back the vibrancy of color.
On Saturday (31.08.), the Night of Museums and Galleries traditionally forms the highlight of the cultural festival. 34 exhibition venues open their doors from 4pm to midnight. There is a varied program of concerts, readings, tours and bus tours and admission to the museums is free. One exception is the Pablo Picasso Art Museum, where admission is reduced to five euros. The Domplatz Oasis on the east side of the Domplatz offers a place to pause for a moment. Under the lime trees, which are cozily illuminated on Museum Night, 80 chairs invite you to rest and relax. The picturesque view of St. Paul's Cathedral and the expanse of the square once again create space for new cultural impressions.
