Germans have always liked to have a gripe with themselves. We probably invented the "everything used to be better" attitude. But there has always been one positive constant: soccer! No nation has made it to the semi-finals of the World Cup and European Championship more often than Germany. And that united us. But since 2018, this pillar of community has been breaking away. Sportfreunde Stiller's song about Germany's successes "54, 74, 90..." sounds more like the perceived age of the protagonists on the pitch today. From the tame Löw to the patched-up Hansi and finally to the coffin nail man. Even the women's national team has finally managed to adapt to the level of the men. But the crisis should be seen as an opportunity. Since not much worth seeing is happening on the pitch, you can take a look behind the scenes, because what is going on there has little to do with soccer and sportsmanship.
