What a brilliant start to an international concert career: Mao Fujita is only 25 years old, but already "on everyone's lips"! At the age of 19, the Japanese pianist won a first prize and all the additional prizes at the Clara Haskil Piano Competition, followed two years later by a second prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition - a guarantee of renown and attention! Mao Fujita went on to make his debut at numerous major festivals, concert halls and orchestras - from the Ruhr Piano Festival to the Verbier Festival, from Carnegie Hall to La Scala, from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra to the Cleveland Orchestra. Whether Mozart, Beethoven or Scriabin, one thing is clear to him: "Every note must be played precisely. The most important thing is to understand the structures and find out how the composer thought about his piece." With an inquisitive eye for detail, his colorful playing illuminates lyrical passages with poetry and sensitivity as well as highly virtuoso moments with playfulness and fire - Mao Fujita, a name to remember!
