schluma - Heulen am Wasser 2026

Schluma is a young indie band from Hamburg whose members met in 2023 while pursuing an arts-focused degree program at the university. After initially recording their first demos as a duo, the current lineup—featuring Pola (guitar) and Linus (drums)—formed in early 2024. Already in their first year, the band played their first concerts in student circles as well as at smaller festivals in northern Germany.

Musically, Schluma falls somewhere between indie rock, lo-fi pop, and noisy ’90s-inspired sounds. Their sound is deliberately raw, and their lyrics are often introspective and melancholic, with a keen sense for observations of everyday life and subtle humor.

In 2025, the band secured its first bookings at established Hamburg clubs such as Molotow, Indra, and Hafenklang, as well as its first performances outside the city—for example, at the invitation of the label Kleine Untergrund Schallplatten in Augsburg and at shows in Bremen and East Frisia.

In the summer of 2025, the label Grand Hotel van Cleef took notice of the band—first when they opened for Amos the Kid, followed by an invitation to a showcase concert at Hamburg’s Hafenklang. Following enthusiastic feedback from the label and the audience, Schluma was officially signed in September 2025 as part of the Reeperbahn Festival.

The band is currently working on recording their debut album and developing a distinct artistic identity—far removed from fleeting trends, with a keen sense of language, atmosphere, and attitude.
