To mark the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking album "Château Schrottgrenze", the band is inviting you to a special series of concerts. Schrottgrenze will be playing the entire album on a few selected stages - supplemented by rare B-sides and songs from the 2006 era.
Château Schrottgrenze" marked a turning point at the time: from the punk underground to new complexity and clarity - sparkling guitars and powerful soundscapes met introspective lyrics that also seemed more abstract and mature than anything the band had released before.
Produced by Tobias Levin (Tocotronic, Kante) and mixed by Michael Ilbert (Cardigans, Adele, Taylor Swift and the Hives), the record impresses with its sparse arrangements, subtle melancholy and lyrics that oscillate between introspective and surreal. The first traces of the band's later exploration of queerness are already recognizable - for example in the song "Fotolabor".
It's an album that doesn't make a big splash, but lingers - with a half-life that has stood the test of time. Expect a journey back to the time when Schrottgrenze reinvented themselves - with songs such as "Am gleichen Meer", "Wie ein Geist, bloß immer da", "Alaska" and the long-lost "Zu Staub".
And who knows: the encore is sure to include one or two of the band's current smashers.
