The originally announced lecture "Schwurbel an der Volkshochschule" unfortunately has to be canceled due to illness. Thankfully, Sabine Breiholz has agreed at short notice to honor us with her lecture on food additives next Monday:

The trend in public perception of food additives is moving in an anti-scientific direction. Nutritional apostles (new German foodies) claim that they are harmful, even lead to mental illness or are responsible for inexplicable symptoms such as chronic fatigue.
The opposite is true. We do not become ill through the consumption of food additives, but rather through excessive consumption of natural substances such as fat, sugar or salt.

Sabine Breiholz holds a degree in biology with a focus on plant ecology, plant physiology, ecophysiology and neurophysiology, as well as postgraduate studies in Consumer Health Care at the Berlin School of Public Health at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Sabine is currently working in the areas of health services research on drug therapy safety and evidence-based medicine.
