Seefeel

In the organizer's words:

silent green presents

Emerging from the London underground of the early 90s, Seefeel quickly became one of the most innovative bands of their time, blurring the lines between guitar music and electronic experimentation.

Initially categorized as part of the shoegaze movement, Seefeel's use of samplers, loops and processed textures pointed to a different future - one more closely associated with the emerging IDM sound.

This hybrid vision caught the attention of Aphex Twin, who was such a big fan that he remixed their track Time To Find Me twice - on the condition that they would eventually record for his Rephlex label. This collaboration, and the band's growing connection to electronic music, culminated in them becoming the first guitar-based group to sign to Warp Records in 1994.

Their Warp debut Succour (1995) marked a significant shift: the lush melodies of Quique gave way to darker, more fragmented rhythms and industrial atmospheres. The album was preceded by two influential EPs, Starethrough and Fracture/Tied, and was followed by the austere, experimental mini-album Ch-Vox on Rephlex (1996).

After a break from 1997, Seefeel returned more than a decade later, unveiling a new line-up at Warp's 20th anniversary and releasing a self-titled album in 2011.
