Sehnsucht: Sinfonisches Konzert

In the organizer's words:

In its 25th anniversary year, the Werkstattorchester invites you to concerts under the motto "Longing". As part of "Tacheles 2026, Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony", we are paying tribute to 3 Jewish composers. Salomon Jadassohn and his lively Serenade op.42 have unfortunately been largely forgotten. With the second movement from Paul Ben-Haim's 1st Symphony, the orchestra will perform a piece full of deep tension and symphonic expansiveness. Another sonic rarity will be the song cycle op.9 by Fanny Hensel in a new version for mezzo-soprano and orchestra. After the interval, Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" will transport us to a musical world full of longing and a spirit of optimism.
