He was an acting sensation: Ulrich Wildgruber as Hamlet in Peter Zadek's production in Bochum in 1977.

22 years later, the enfant terrible of directing tackles the "most difficult play of all time" once again.

It is to be his masterpiece. An ensemble recruited from the most renowned actors and actresses of the time ensures that the first few months of the production are sold out even before rehearsals begin. In the leading role, Angela Winkler Zadek is to guarantee artistic and financial success.

Ulrich Wildgruber, the passionate, exciting Hamlet of old, is now to play Polonius, the overburdened, ridiculous chancellor at the Danish court.
