Lecture by Thomas Schenker

Traveling overland to China, just like the camel caravans that brought valuable silk from the Far East to the Roman Empire thousands of years ago - this dream haunted Thomas for years. In 2017, he finally packed his things onto an old mountain bike, which took him over the Alps and through the Balkans to the border of Europe. From there, he continued eastwards - always following in the footsteps of the caravans that took him to the remote areas of the ancient Silk Road. This is a talk about the dream of cycling east. About the desire to live in the moment, to be free and to feel this every day. But also about setbacks, fear, uncertainty and tears.

• Unless otherwise stated, the lectures will take place in the club hut on the 1st floor. There is only room for a limited number of guests, which is why we strongly recommend using the advance booking service.
