On November 21, author and editor Ann-Kristin Tlusty and political activist Sarah Lee-Heinrich will read from and talk about "Selbst schuld!" at 7 pm at Watergate.

You're overworked because you don't plan your time properly. You don't earn enough money because you don't work hard enough. You're responsible for the climate catastrophe because you don't dispose of your yoghurt pots properly. In short: it's all your own fault! This is the ideology of our time. It is put forward by politicians and economists, influencers and our own families. All social conditions are ignored. In 13 personal essays, the authors ask how personal guilt has conquered all areas of life. Their book allows itself the luxury of doubting the seemingly self-evident. It is a manifesto of critical thinking for the present.
