Some bands find their groove and stick with it, while others keep reinventing themselves and keep moving. Sextile can attest to the allure of an ever-changing map. The L.A. duo, consisting of Melissa Scaduto and Brady Keehn, work with a lust for life and a penchant for everything from no wave to hardstyle. They combined some of these influences on their impressive debut album "Push" from 2023's Sacred Bones.
The group's new LP, "Yes, please.", out May 2, combines anarchic electro fire with raw personal memories - and enough amplified bass to burst a speaker or two. It's an album of contrasts: a vulnerable record that bares its soul as much as it revels in excess, showing just how far you can push your sound when you shake off your inhibitions. Together, the pair reveal a confidence that never wavers and takes a bold leap. "yes, please" is an action-packed dance record full of wild, exhilarating bangers, but in the same breath a testament to living and never looking back.
