Founded in 2015 by students of the National Music Conservatory of Mexico, the Shemesh Quartet is a young and excellent representative of Mexican vocal music - and thus the first a cappella ensemble from the country that connects North and South America. The group's repertoire encompasses both the serious, classical vocal music of Mexican composers, which is close to the Renaissance and Baroque periods, as well as folk songs and many of their own pieces. At the same time, it manages a balancing act between theatricality and naturalness, which is also reflected in the quartet's concerts and projects.
